I just read over a new book "1993-2002 Camaro and Firebird Performance Handbook" by Joseph Potak of Texas Speed and Performance. This is a must read for anyone planning on or in the midst of adding power to a 4th gen. I have messed up a few cars in my days by not fully understanding the proper balance of engine & suspension mods.....ended up with cars with no top end - or cars that could not pull out at a stop sign, but would scream at 80 mph or more.....and have stayed away from much modifying since then.
This book explains what to add and what not to add depending on what your goal my be for the car. It is broken down into sections covering suspension, intake and exhaust, engine bolt ons, trans & clutch systems, heads and cams, etc. It goes into what parts should be added at the same time - to be sure to get the most power - be it for drags or for cornering; and has great clear photos showing examples.
After going thru this publication, I feel I could make good choices on modifications, and be happy with the results I receive.....hmmmm - which to do first.....
